I recently discovered a glass supplier that stocked a beguiling range of coloured glass and could not resist buying some.

There was a blue swirly glass that had echoes of the sea – hence the Masefield quotation that I engraved on a piece that I cut into a sail shape.

And out of one of the bits left over I could not resist playing with reflections using a mirror to turn the negative image on the back of the glass to a positive iteration.

I am currently working on bouncing reflections of deep blue and cherry red sheets of glass as you can see in the following image of work in progress.

Again there were bits left over which became Christmas decorations and pieces of jewelry.

The deep blue works very well with silver so I scaled things up to create this box with a silver and glass lid.
